Missions and Outreach

We are a mission-focused church. The congregation has a unique history and was established for a unique purpose that tends to frame the direction of its future. Our predecessors have made a significant investment in attracting and serving the students of A&M and Blinn. Over the years that opportunity has continued to grow. It is for this reason the primary missionary thrust of the congregation is being directed toward utilization of this student resource that has been entrusted to us.

For years AFC members have been involved in weekend mission trips, summer missions, and mission internships. Many students mentored in AFC have experienced the spiritual fulfillment of mission involvement, and have chosen to pursue mission work after graduation. The mission emphasis of this congregation is to further provide this kind of experience to these students and then equip them for work as missionaries. Scholarships for internships and further mission studies are provided for students serious about that pursuit.

Our goal is to generate more energetic and specially qualified men and women to be involved in world missions.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19, 20
